PRESCHOOL

As I reflect back on the month of October I am amazed at how many events we had at the school and in our Church. Thanks to all who helped with our Book Fair. Pastor Carlos has been preaching about radical evangelism, and the ministries we provide to our community. He brought up the question of how we impact our community, and if our doors closed today who would notice? Who would miss us or even be effected by this? I knew without hesitation that there are many ministries that would create a huge loss. All the individuals and families that struggle for a hot meal daily would go without. There is a large number of people in our church that help support and build homes for Habitat for Humanity. Our support of the Methodist Children’s Home brings much needed love and support to kids in need, and of course, I cannot leave out Crossroads Preschool. Our preschool impacts the lives of 70 plus families right here, right now, in our Community. I am quite certain that our School families would miss us greatly, and I am grateful for that. I feel a real sense of accomplishment, in carrying out God’s work. God tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” All of these ministries establish faith, encourage hope, and inspire us to love each other. Now, that is RADICAL EVANGELISM!

We will host a preschool Thanksgiving dinner, with our students and families. Date to be announced.

We also invite our Church Family to join us for our Christmas program, “Jesus: Light of the World,” on December 6, at 10:00am. There will be cookies and hot cocoa following the program. Our Daily Bread outreach feeding ministry will also be offering a Craft Bazaar on December 6 in the Fellowship Hall. Come to our program, then stroll over to the Fellowship Hall for some neat gifts.

Crossroads Preschool-

Thank you so much for the meals you have provided for our family. You are truly a blessing to us. We are so happy Emily attends school here and we are so pleased she loves going to school. Everyone is so friendly and we appreciate all you do to help children grow up ready and willing to serve God! We love you.

Dear Everyone,

You have all been such a blessing to us. We have had a wonderful experience at Crossroads and will treasure them always. We have also made some good friends that we have touched our hearts and will never be forgotten. We are thankful for having been part of this great school. You are all very special people and great teachers. We’ll come to visit.

Love– Anita

Our philosophy strives to enrich God’s children through learning centers, educational experiences, worship, and play that help develop their spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and social personalities. Each child will be recognized as a special and unique being, created by God.

We are an ecumenical Christian preschool with a desire to teach young children with a loving heart and academic focus. Our curriculum includes, but is not limited to themed activities, letter recognition, phonics and phonemic awareness, numbers and values, shapes, colors, Bible stories and Chapel time, gross and fine motor activities with an introduction to formal D’Nealian handwriting skills. We complete a developmental assessment on

each student to assist the teachers in planning age and academically appropriate lessons. Our teachers create an atmosphere that is comfortable and secure so that the child’s individual needs are met with warmth, acceptance, understanding, support and encouragement. Our program’s focus in on the process of learning, and not the product.

Student eligibility is open to the community on a “first come, first served” basis with priority given to church members, current students and siblings before open enrollment. Our students must be three years old/four years old on or before September 1st of the year they wish to enroll and must be toilet trained and independent when using the bathroom. All classes subject to teacher availability or needs of the community.
