CROSSROADS PRESCHOOL

After almost nine years serving as a teacher and then taking over as director, I have decided to step down; September 10, 2009 was my last official work day.

The time I have spent here serving God and our Church in this ministry has been a wonderful experience and I will miss it greatly!
At this time Mrs. Gina Rost will be stepping up as interim director. Mrs. Rost started out here as a parent and then began serving on the preschool board. She is now starting her 4th year working here, and is currently working on her director’s credentials.
Our school is very blessed to have Mrs. Rost on staff and I know she will do an amazing job.

As we move forward this school year I will continue to volunteer, and help support the school any way possible. To all my parents, students, staff and our church I am eternally grateful for your support, prayers, and love. Please continue to pray for the school.

Love in Christ,
Mrs. Rhonda Cooper

We are having a Book Fair October 12-23. In celebration of the Book Fair on Thursday, October 22, children can bring their grandparents at 6:30 pm for a fun-filled evening of planned activities. If you are interested in donating baked goods, please contact Gina Rost in the preschool office.

Act for Him has been scheduled for November 12-13. The theme will be “Pebbles” a Christian Cowboy that finds a box like Benjamin's Box and interacts with the kids to tell the story of the items he pulls from the box. The time for the events will be 12 pm on Thursday and 9 am on Friday; parents will be invited.

The kids will be making igloos in January; therefore, the preschool will appreciate your donation of clear one gallon jugs . . .water, milk and/or juice.

We are an ecumenical Christian preschool with a desire to teach young children with a loving heart and academic focus. Our curriculum includes, but is not limited to themed activities, letter recognition, phonics and phonemic awareness, numbers and values, shapes, colors, Bible stories and Chapel time,

and gross and fine motor activities with an introduction to formal D’Nealian handwriting skills. We complete a developmental assessment oneach student to assist the teachers in planning age and academically appropriate lessons. Our teachers create an atmosphere that is comfortable and secure so that the child’s individual needs are met with warmth, acceptance, understanding, support and encouragement. Our program’s focus in on the process of learning, and not the product.

Student eligibility is open to the community on a “first come, first served” basis with priority given to church members, current students and siblings before open enrollment. Our students must be three years old/four years old on or before September 1st of the year they wish to enroll and must be toilet trained and independent when using the bathroom. All classes subject to teacher availability or needs of the community.
