DEADLINE FOR YOUR GOOD NEWS ARTICLE FOR THE COMBINED AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2010 ISSUE:
MONDAY, July 19, 2010
Articles can be dropped off at the Church Office OR e-mail:
PubSec@ChristUMClehigh.org

Can you spare a morning or afternoon during the third week of the month to help compose some pages in the GOOD NEWS? You do need to type and have some knowledge of computers and be willing to learn some more and proof-read. If this is something you would like to help with, please call the church office, 369-1433 to let them know you are available. THANK YOU!

Want to be part of the stuffing and folding team?? Give the church office a call (369-1433) to be added to our as-needed volunteer list. There's a wonderful group of people already helping out, but more hands would be great!

Remembering your promise to support the church with your time, your talents, and your resources, please seriously consider helping in any of these programs . . .

Our Daily Bread needs help with cleaning up the kitchen after lunch is served; this would mean an hour or so on Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays beginning at 1:00 pm.

Youth Program needs a new multi-media computer to use in its worship services. You may make a donation by marking your offering “youth computer” and sending to church office or placing in the offering plate.

Worship Committee needs help with:
  • polishing the sanctuary brass,
  • sewing new banners for the sanctuary,
  • instrumentalists for the praise band (sign-up sheet in the narthex; practice is Wednesday at 8 pm in the sanctuary),
  • dedication of altar flowers (open dates are 10/4, 10/18, 10/25, 11/15 and 11/29); cost is $17.50 per vase.

CUMC Bus needs more drivers; we currently only have two licensed drivers and the usage would be greatly enhanced with more persons able to take turns transporting people to Sunday school, worship services, etc. This means taking the written and driving tests for a CDL-C with Passenger Endorsement license.

Crossroads Preschool needs office help (contact Hester Jones at 369-7521).

If the Lord is leading you to become more involved, please check with the church office for more information on any of these jobs. The Lord and CUMC need your increased participation in all church events.

THANK YOU

Les and Barb Whaley for sharing a bulletin from Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church.

Charles and Hester Jones for sharing bulletins from the First Baptist Church, Amory, Mississippi.

(Please check if the bulletin you are bringing in has the town and state where it is located. If it doesn't, please write it in.)

THANK YOU

Beverly Gregory wishes to thank everyone for their visiting her during her illness. She presently is at home but does appreciate all the cards, more visits, sunshiney good wishes and concerns.

THE FLOWER COMMITTEE does a wonderful service to our shut-ins, those recuperating at a rehab facility, or in the hospital. Those folks that receive the beautiful Altar flowers and a visit from a church member are most appreciative. Those that do the delivering are most humbled and blessed.

Won’t you pray about becoming a part of this Committee that takes so little time but brings so much pleasure to both the delivery persons and the recipients? If you can give one Sunday afternoon every other month, then give John & Anna Hughes, a call. 369-9306

CHILDREN’S CHURCH—We are in need of teachers and helpers every Sunday to help out in Children’s Church. Please sign up in the back of the church and be prepared to be blessed. We are also in need of volunteers to teach Pre-K thru 5th grade on Wednesday night from 7:00—8:00pm, as well as Nursery volunteers. Please call Debbie Dittmar if you can help. 693-0936

Put on your “thinking cap” and let them know your group will have an information booth; do a performance, or do some activites and games for the children. Let’s show Lehigh what Methodist RADICAL HOSPITALITY is all about!.. Volunteer and be Blessed!
